RE Drift brings together the work of local artists including Irene Rogan, Julia Parks, RL Wilson, Simon Bradley and Ursula Che plus guest collaborators – each making work and responding to areas of West Cumbria, UK.
This often overlooked stretch of the British coastline and its inland tributaries, serve as inspiration and critique for the artists – reflecting on its historical, industrial, militarised, nuclear, and natural habitats.
Outcomes include sculpture, film, live performance, sound, text, performance, and community-focused initiatives – all within a critical, contemporary context – creating a dialogue for both local and international practitioners and audiences alike.
The collective will re-examine, re-energise, refurbish, re-appropriate and reinvent our relationship to the natural and man-made that reflect the Cumbrian coast.
This project is funded by Arts Council England, FoN Barrow, and Dynamic Dunescapes.
With additional support from Art Gene, Signal Film and Media, Muncaster Castle and a growing list of local and international collaborators.
